Levitating Charcoal, Constructed Platform

From the Hallowed series (2016-2022), I created a few “levitating” charcoal pieces which consisted of the smallest vestiges left over from previously thriving human environments. The charcoal pieces come together into a small form, which mysteriously levitates at eye-level. Giving off a sense of the “unexplained”, while revealing that which symbolizes innate spiritual yearnings – that while we seek to know a thing, we can never fully understand it.
